These are two of my 486 cpu's. Could it be that the two processors were manufactured at same moment?

| Is it a unique serial number, or just a batch code? |

Wow - That is really smart. They must have came from the same batch of systems I guess?
How many were made in each batch? I'm guessing a batch is 1 silicon wafer? _________________ 4000+ chips.

none of my 8 DX4-100 cpus (different sspecs) have another batch code after the top serial code.
someone must know what all the numbers mean on the bottom of the cpu??????????? all we are doing is guessing. |

| I agree with JAC. CPU collecting is very similar to stamp and coin collecting and they have cataloges for everything. I feel we need to establish something similar. Many CPU collectors in this forum (and outside) are doing a great job collecting chips but I feel the lack of an "official" reference. |
