Hi, guys.
Been a while since I was last on here! Anyways, this is perhaps in the wrong place; if it is, please move as necessary.
Quite simply, the question is in the title; "What do microcode updates actually DO?"
I've run Puppy Linux for near enough the last decade, and some of the recent Puppies are now coming with a
.....archive which, from what I understand, gets loaded very early in the boot process. But what's actually happening when these 'binary blobs' get loaded.....and what is it that these updates are addressing?
TIA for any pertinent info, guys.
