Does anyone have info, or better still a downloadable datasheet, for the Zilog Z80280 ? I'm mainly looking for core voltage (I assume it's the same as the Z80180, but I could be qwrong...) and operating temperature range.

"1989 Zilog Z80 Family Data Book" - US$17.85 on Alibris.com, includes the Z280.

Short of that, you might ask Gaby Chaudry:

Thanks John.

Would part numbers be constructed the same as for a Z180 (so that I can look up other info on the chips using datasheets I already have)?

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately I've already looked there and the only link which is specific to the Z280 is a text document that I already have, which doesn't have the info I am trying to find.

Couldn't hurt to ask. He might have additional info not posted on the site.

$18 + p&p is dirt cheap for technical specs on the *entire* Z80 family. (Not my book, incidentally.) To be honest, I'm baffled by your obstinance on this issue... I'm sure you've spent more than that on a single chip. But one thing's certain - information isn't going to jump out at you free for the asking.

I'm baffled by your obsession about how debs handles her buys. You seem to be in every other thread with no apparent reason commenting on how others choose to spend their money.

No, not really. Debs asked a question; I supplied the only legitimate answer.

Why exactly are either of you butting in anyway? Do you have the data she's looking for...? I know of one source that does, and that's the book I mentioned - hence, my bewilderment. If you two knights in shining armor really wanted to help her, you'd buy the book for her and keep the snide comments to yourselves. I have no vested interest in how she spends her money nor in hawking someone else's merchandise.

Partnumbers are built the same as the 180
so you can use the package marking from a 180 and carry them over

chip68 please respect opinions others users on this forum. On other forum you could got warning for really not nicer replys Wink. If someone need help we should help him.

I got a few informations about Z820 :

http://www.datasheets.org.uk/specsheet.php?part=Z280

In fact I suspect that is Z8000/Z80000 family CPU with additional peripherials.

Marcin, kindly practice what you preach. I've contributed enough to this forum *gratis* that I shouldn't expect to be ganged up on when I dare suggest - God forbid - that one might actually have to PAY for something somewhere along the way.

As far as helping her, I did. Second post up above. The fact that you choose not to recognize it as such is your problem, not mine.

You would be wrong, incidentally - but I suppose I'll be attacked for saying that as well. It's a 16-bit version of the Z80. Generic information about the Z280 can be found all over the web, so the link you posted added nothing to the discussion.

Z280 Preliminary Technical Manual, 335 pages, does not have electrical data:

Buy the book and you'll have your answer. The end.
