| I have a 7800xt and am not sure what cpu to get, and the 9600x is around $60-80 aud cheaper than the 7 7700, and I will mainly be gaming, but I will do some video editing so I’m not sure which one is better |

+1 for this, although if you are doing your build now, consider looking at the 7800X3D.
If you are gaming the X3D chips make a significant difference.
Otherwise for non X3D chips, look at benchmarks and see what you are comfortable with. I recall that there wasn't that much of an uplift between the 7000-series and 9000-series non-X3D parts when it comes to gaming.
