Looking for a goldfinger device for Slot A K7 Athlons. Not picky about any model in particular - any functional GFD will do.
Thanks! |

LOL. Good luck.
It took me 10 years to find one. |

Thx! Thought I found one about two years ago, but the seller bailed on me. That is, if he ever really had it in the first place. So far, I've been hunting for about 4.5 years. |

It's not the processor itself, but rather a dipswitch array that attaches to the golden fingers of the processor. Something like this:

Omg, If I'd have it I'd through it away to recycle bin, doesn't look cool or precious at all )))
Was it for changing multipliers/overclocking ? |

Exactly! One could manipulate multiplier and core voltage with such a device. |

Scott is right.
Very hard to find one.
But ...
The pcb is a simple dual sided one.
Schematics can be found or figured out.
A couple of dip-switches and some smd-resistors.
That socket-pin is still used in automotive (i think).
Can be found.
I believe it's easier to build one , than find one.
At least for a person with basic electronic knowledge.
For a technician it's probably a piece of cake. |

| The resistor mod is not a problem. But the collector in me still wants a GFD! |

I would buy one. Maybe a member could post one for you to copy if they are unsure how to create a schematic Or a decent photo showing both sides of the board with enough clarity to work it out? _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.
