Mitsubishi (now Renasas) had an extensive line of 8 and 16-bit MCUs. These were found in lots of various things and can seem rather uninteresting, but at their core, most are actually based on the 6502 (literally the CPU that never goes away haha)
The 37100 is a 4MHz 8-bit CMOS CPU with 69 instructions - MELPS 740 - 6502 core
The M50439 is I think a 4-bit MCU, though specs are elusive
