Much to my joy they let me back in the scrap yard. It was a sunny day and I think the owner was in a good mood. I returned with probably 40 new uncommon chips including a few HP para risc, sun ultrasparc II, Itanium ES's, and even an old siemens 8086. I did find some that I have not been able to identify though. Any help would be apreciated.

The four DEC chips are from an LSI -11 chipset

23-0002C4 Control Chip
23-001B5-00 and 23-002B5 Instruction Set
21-11549-01 Data Chip

Was there a 23-003B5 ( Writable Control Store ) chip with these?

You can see the five of these in my collection

there were only these 4. They had already been removed from the board when I aquired them. Their use in an LSI -11 chipset explains the wealth of lsi support chips that were also preasent at the scrapper. Thanks for the information Smile

I have, today I got a siemens 80286-A (pga), an amd 286, an amd 188, another Itanium ES, some AMD server procs, a sun microsparc II..... Quite a haul. Beyond that, this place goes through so much volume I can expect a haul like this every month or so. Very Happy Stay tuned, this week end all the chips I got more than one of are going to show up on ebay.
