Here are some pretty rare and interesting bits of Intel history.
These were made up for the introduction of the Intel 586 processor. The 586 was renamed the Pentium before its actual release when Intel realized they could not trademark '586.'
These were made before that renaming, and as you can see were also made incorrectly. The 486 and 586 die got placed on the wrong side, they attempted to fix it but removing the die resulting in a lot of broken ones (I have LOTS of broken dies from that)
I have a few of these complete (they aren't 100% perfect as they got tossed in some drawer as rejects 33 years ago
