Yes, it's from Bjørn's collection. He was my father-in-law.

We're all getting old.... Sad

No offense but...
I'll put all my collection to Ebay when I am over 60 years old.
I'll not have my son or my son-in-law to sell them after I pass away....

I saw the exactly same thing happened before in Taiwan....

None taken, and I would have done the same. We will never get through this huge collection so some of it will be kept Laughing

The pair of C4040s would have been a nice auction

AVICC does handle consignment services for this sort of thing too (have done a number of complete collections recently too)

Wow... Well over $4000 now, already shattering the previous $2720 Record. For such price, almost tempted to sell my own C8086 as I am a bit strapped for Cash Lol
I should really have bought spares while I still could...

Not an insane price honestly, people do pay $5000 for some obscure Chip just because it is tied to the Apple Brand...
Finally, people realize the real value of the first x86, which still powers our Computers nowadays.
Will Snipers drive the price up to even further heights?

Price might have been somewhat inflated as it turned out to be an attempt of fraud. Will be relisted later on Surprised

Unfortunate... Buyer can be reported here so others can avoid getting Scammed or just wasting time, https://www.cpu-world.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=126

Was about to post about the Auction in the Recent Auctions Topic so it can easily be searched for reference...
A bit disappointed that there were no Snipers doubling or tripling the Price during the last 5 s like it always happens...
Well, I wonder how the Relisting will perform...
