History being rewritten at it's best... this adds to the other significant change this year of Intel being used in MACS.

"Rollins said the decision was not related to the antitrust lawsuit AMD filed against Intel last year, in which AMD charged that Intel uses selective pricing schemes designed to provide incentives for its customers to exclude AMD from certain accounts, such as Dell"

BS. This decision is entirely based on that lawsuit (Which will either be settled out of court or AMD will win.) Intel has clearly stopped the threats to dell regarding the use of AMD and Dell is responding by using the better chips. I think next we will see AMD incoporated in Dells discount machines (as is AMD's traditional though not accurate place.) Then perhaps the high end xps gaming rigs will be switched over from pentium EE's to FX's. I think mobil computing will probably be last since the pentium M is an excellent chip and at least competitive with the turion.

Oh, and about the whole Intel macintrash thing. Mac backing a loosing player, big surprise there. Perhaps at this point Mac should consider becoming an electronics company instead of a computer company. Their biggest product is a glorified walkman after all and they seem to be licking their competitors in this industry. Watch out Sony.

That's 5 words Smile

I totally agree, with what I have known in the past. Maybe now they aren't forced to use Intel chips in everything they might put the money they save into developing better products Smile

LOL

The only Dell product I paid more than scrap value for was the Dual-Socket 370 board I bought from Michael - and that was only because iot's a dual-processor board, not for the name Smile I absolutely won't pay retail prices on brand-name goods when I can get OEM goods cheaper (I prefer, of course, to pay scrap prices for everything, but I guess most of us here do...).

I really must fix my van so I can go collecting more scrap computers from any local shop that has a shed full still Smile

I can say there are much more badly scrap than Dell. Dell isn't worst Wink High quality cases, good support on web site, nice notebooks. Bad thing is dedicated power supplies but we can live with that too Smile
