I don't think it's the one that CPUZ says it's a Athlon 64 FX,because it's a VENICE core,so what is this? Shocked

I suggest running the latest version of CPU-Z. The current version that you have is misreporting its clock frequency, and who knows if that's not the only wrong value.

If the latest version of CPU-Z doesn't give you any details, run HWiNFO64 and see what it has to say. In the meantime, you should check the processor's pin layout. I don't seem to recall AMD-V existing on any Socket 939 Athlon 64, so I suspect this processor is a Socket AM2 Athlon 64.

There are some disagreements between the physical CPU and the CPU-Z indications. I think the disagreements are the result of the motherboard BIOS not recognizing this CPU. In CPU-Z, the Specification field is 'AMD Processor', which indicates CPU-Z does not know the name of the CPU, because the BIOS does not know the name of the CPU. In that situation, CPU-Z fields Name, Code Name, Package, and Specification are usually invalid. The way CPU-Z is written, it attempts to guess at some of those values - for example, Athlon64FX seems to be default - but these are usually incorrect. It is strange that the Family, Model, and Stepping fields are blank.

The physical CPU is strange. What is happening with the heat spreader? It looks like a mobile part with a shim, but I've never seen that on K8 CPUs. The package 28727 is consistent with Venice, and I think the die size looks correct - Venice is only 120 mm2. However, Venice has only 512 MB L2 cache, which disagrees with CPU-Z.

As noted above, socket 939 does not support AMD-V.

Could it be:

Venice? (socket 939, overclocked to 3.0 GHz) YES: 90 nm, 28727 package NO: 1MB L2 cache, AMD-V support

San Diego? (socket 939 Opteron) YES: 90 nm, 1MB L2 cache NO: AMD-V support

Troy? (socket 940 Opteron) YES: 90 nm, 1MB L2 cache NO: AMD-V support

Orleans? (socket AM2, overclocked to 3.0 GHz) YES: 90 nm, 1MB L2 cache, AMD-V support NO: package 28727

Windsor? (socket AM2 dual core, one core disabled) YES: 90 nm, 1MB L2 cache, AMD-V support NO: package 28727

Santa Ana? (socket AM2 dual core Opteron, one core disabled) YES: 90 nm, 1MB L2 cache, AMD-V support NO: package 28727

None of these are an exact match, so more information is needed to determine the identity. If possible, obtain photo of the pin side of CPU, update the system BIOS, try updated CPU-Z, and/or try HWiNFO.

It is socket 939.

Also, I corrected a mistake above - the socket 939 Opterons are San Diego, not Venus.

one of my project was remove heatspreader for every Intel and AMD new CPUs, so
for about the visual layout of capacitors and core dimension it can be only a Venice 939 or ..... a Sempron Palermo 939, no one of the Opterons has this layout

PS The CPU-Z screenshot has been heavily photoshopped...
