I have set up the specs for a friend who wants to buy a notebook, he wants to do video editing with it.

But what's best, Win XP home or professional?

I have pro, but I never used home so I don't really know what's inside this degr... downgraded version.

Thanks for any reply.

I know Xp sucks, hell if we all know that!

There is actually -very- little diference between the two. The largest diference is XPpro has support for Domain based networking. Home lacks this, so unless your in an enterprise that uses WinNT/2000/2003 domains. Just get home.

Actually, Home has more problems then you think!

FACT :Over a spend of 3 years,
more then 70% of people that came to me with pc troubles ,were using Home Edition, while only about 10% was Pro(the other 20% was other...)I cured approx. 98% of their problems by upgrading to Pro!

Something else "they" forgot to mention to you here, is that XP Pro is fantastic for Driver support, meaning when you do a fresh install, 99% of your drivers will be found. Also, if your gaming, XP Home has many issues regarding many different "patches" you have to get for certain games.

Well there, I've said enough for now Wink
I'd stick with Pro, you can't go wrong there.
