|
|
I have a motherboard M6VCF wich uses a coppermine CPU from 533MHz to !GHz proccessor. My question is is how to set the CPU Ratio. The spec I looked up for the 900MHz. The specs say use a 9x multiplier. The board I have only goes to an 8x. I would appreciate any help I can get.

The Ratio or Multiplier is locked in Intel CPUs. So, of course, you can set it manually from BIOS, but without any effect - multiplier won't change...
This option is placed in BIOS for very old PII and ES CPUs, in which multiplier is unlocked... _________________ FreeBSD - forever |

Let's take a look at jumper settings for different clock multipliers for this board:
2.0x - 0000
2.5x - 0010
3.0x - 0100
3.5x - 0110
4.0x - 1000
4.5x - 1010
5.0x - 1100
5.5x - 1110
6.0x - 0001
6.5x - 0011
7.0x - 0101
7.5x - 0111
8.0x - 1001
Where 0 is Close, and 1 is Open. Notice the pattern? The third jumper controls 0.5x multiplier, so it's easy to calculate 8.5x:
8.5x - 1011
It shouldn't be difficult to guess what 9x is going to be:
9.0x - 1101
And, finally, 9.5x:
9.5x - 1111
