Hi everyone,

What is S Spec code and how important is it, I mean in the case of xeon CPU can I mix 2 CPUs with different S Spec codes if everything else is identical?

Many thanks.

Usually you can't mix 2 cpus with different SSpec.
But I suggest you to look into Intel Xeons specification update to see compatibility between different Sspecs or steppings.

Here is a link to spec update just in case:

It looks like you can mix different s-spec numbers as long as they have the same stepping, and in some cases you can mix different steppings too.
