I'd ahve tried out UBUNTU if Sammy had ever sent the CD he said he was gonna post when he said he had loads for everyone who wanted them...
Can't comment on IRC, but I don't think there would be enough traffic to keep the channel active for anyone just dropping in for input or with questions - everyone would still come here
