Hi!

Just want to check with the intended audience (us at cpu-world) if you use cpuphotolibrary.com?

There are a bit of work to search, rezise, crop upload and sort all those photos and i want to check if work done is done for a reason.

What could be done better? Are you missing something? (Besides chips or manufacturers missing)

Thanks!

Besides missing important chip families such as MOS 6502 (or TI - they did the very early 1000 or the first 16 bit cpu, the 9900 but only intel clones here) it would be good to have a structure that shows chips sorted by the original manufacturer and the clones in a subfolder.
As an example Siemens isn't worth an own folder because thes didn't produce a single important chip on their own.
And when I like to see which companies cloned eg. a 80188 i didn't need to search all manufacturer cathegories.

Besides this (by you encouraged;-) criticism: Great work!!!
Thanks for this site, it is informative and entertains!

Thanks all!

About the sorting... it could be discussed in eternity. I get suggestions every now and then about families and how they sorted. Its different from each collector and probably how they collect.

The sorting as it is now is pretty straight forward from the chip itself and its manufacturer and its speed.

Chipfans: I have to check. I have done a few ip-blocks since someone ate my bandwidht a coulpe of months ago downloading the whole site over and over again. The message you get seems to be from my web-server.

well, it might not be this reason, but lately china has been a problem with blocking sites from customers....

I think it is a wonderful site. It allows the user to view actual pictures of of the chips one desires to see. On of my greatest annoyances in using cpuworld is that only one or so examples from a class are viewable. I often desired to see more. Cpuphotolibrary fit the bill. I belive as the site becomes more complete it will become all the more usefull. I also like to see pictures of my chips on the web. It makes me feel that my hobby is contributing to some greater base of knowledge.

I use the site a lot when checking what gaps there are in various parts of my collection, and I can see it will be a valuable resource if it continues to be updated and maintained as it has.

Its probably because it is a rare chip or no-one has uploaded it yet. The library is in no way near complete.

Do you have a pic? Email me at photos@cpuphotolibrary.com and i will add it!
