Hi guys.

For the past month I have been reading up about which motherboards, which cpu chips are best for high performance pc's + gamming.
I quickly found out that Anthol AMD was the best one to choose, until..

yesterday I read about the Core 2 Duo intel chip in the magazine and on the internet (cclonline.com) and all said was hyperthreading, multitasking, maybe the next gamming pc's generation.

I have money, no problem, i dont mind about the prices of these chips, aslong as i have an awsome put together performance gamming pc.

My question is:

Which is best NOW after the Core 2 Duo came out?

Core 2 Duo or an Anthol 64 AMD chip?

All replies and help would be really apretiated.
Thank you in advanced.

AMD has thier FX series which is speciafically for gaming. The latest one is the FX-62. Personally i'm an AMD user, But i have heard nice things about the core duo. I know it dosnt matter about prices, but i found the FX-62 2.8Ghx for $889 and the Core 2 Duo for about $500 (oem). I defintly like AMD more for gaming purposes, sure there is a price differnce, bue you said money isnt a problem , and if your concerned with clockrates, amd would still be the one to use.
WOOT AMD!

Core 2 Duo E6600 or E6700, or if you have big money and want the best cpu of the moment : X6800 !

If money is not a problem then get Core 2 Duo, like Mixeur suggested. E6600 would be as fast or faster than Athlon FX-62. I think AMD Athlon FX processors are way overpriced right now.

End of era where Intel wasn't best for games. Core 2 Duo beat all AMD CPUs at this moment Sad E6600 is faster than Intel Pentium IV Extreme Edition 2 x 3 GHz which cost about 4 times more. Core 2 Duo have half power consumption between other similar performance CPUs. I bought AMD Athlon 64 for AM2 socket but only because I'm AMD fun.
