I remember reading the 100MHz versions were mostly scrapped and destroyed. I'm willing to bet that there are more C4004's out there than A80502-100MHz pentium goldcaps. _________________ http://www.RareCPUs.com

Didn't you hear, there are tubes of C4004's just sitting around waiting to be sold on E-bay for $10.00 a pop. At least thats what they tell me.
Seriously though, your probably right about the gold topped pentium 100's. I think the reason is desire not rarity though. C4004's are far more vigorously sought after then Pentium 100's. My guess is many of those 100+ chips lots sold for recycling have pentium 100's in them and no one ever knows it. |
