dCh3pojg I am currently have a problem accessing some websites.
I am currently running Win 2000 Pro and IE6.
When I go to certain websites like the following
http://www.datasheetarchive.com/
and do a search IE6 closes down on me and restarts. My PC has been doing this for a couple of weeks now.
My most Pressing Problem at this time is that I can no longer access a page on eBay that I could yesterday.
As an Ebay Store Owner I have access to Traffic Reports to my Listings to an outside Website accessed from a link in my Ebay Store Owners Page.
On clicking the link it takes me to a page where I have to enter my eBay Logon and Password before it diverts me to the Omniture Reporting Site.
The Problem is that when I click on the Link to the page where I would normally input my Ebay Logon and Password my Browser continually comes up with "Page Unavailable"
I have contacted eBay Store Support and they reckon they can still access the link.
I have tried the following to fix this.
Deleted the files and cookies in IE6
Done a hard disk clean up
Rebooted
Refreshed the page
Disabled Windows Defender
Did a fresh reinstall and upgrade on Zone Alarm
Purchased Registry Mechanic from PC tools and Ran it.
All to no avail
Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this please????
Cheers & thank you in advance. _________________ The Older they are the Better they are. |

I dont think it is anything to do with ebay.
Have you tried firefox? tabbed browsing!!!!!!!!!! it rocks.. and pop up blockers etc.. beats the pants off ie.
I also recommend running something like adaware and checking your anti virus is up to date and working. You get the best results with spyware and anti virus programs if you boot off a flash disk and scan the target drive.
Page unavailable could also be related to your ISP. Have you recently changed ISPs? I would also ask them for advice.
Have you also done a windows update? If not, do one. If you have, has the problem started since then? |

Thanks for that. I have just downloaded Firefox and I am now using that but it has not made any difference to me getting to my Traffic reports yet.
I have not changed ISP's recently so their should be no problems there.
I am beginning to think it may be an Ebay Problem

This is also an awesome program....
http://www.stevengould.org/software/cleanup/
you'll be amazed at how much space it recovers - warning!!!!! if you use a c:\temp folder it will clean that for you as well.. so move your stuff out of temp before you run cleanup.
Back to ebay.. is this the only site you have problems with now? Can you disable them in ebay and then renable them?
If you are on broadband I would take out zonealarm and use a hardware firewall in a router like the DG834G ( they rock! ) |

If you have the same problem in IE and Firefox then maybe there is a connectivity problem. Get website name from the link and ping it. For example, if the link says https://www.ebaystores.com/some-directory/?blah then:
ping www.ebaystores.com
If it doesn't work then run:
tracert website
Replace "website" with actual website name. Post the results here.

The address is cgi6.ebay.com, but as I just found out you won't be able to ping it or do a tracerout - eBay blocks them. By the way, my browser also can't find a page when I go to http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/ebayASAPI.dll?trafficreporting
Is this the correct link?

I found this link on eBay answer center, it was posted there 4 months ago:
http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?TrafficReporting
It probably won't work, but it's worth a try.
Can somebody from US, who has an eBay store, post their link to trafficreports?

I'm not from US but this link looks better.
Robev's link: "Page not found [blablabla]"
Your link: "Feature Temporarily Unavailable. The feature you are trying to access is currently unavailable. Please try again later."

OK here is the the Latest
I didn't want to post again until I had tried a few things but obviously the Problem is in my PC or Software or something and it's really got me baffled.
I went over to my Son's House tonight and used his computer which has XP on it and IE6 and logged on to eBay.
I accessed the link using his PC with no problems so it's not an eBay problem but I cannot for the life of me think of what it is.
I am using Firefox now and still no joy, I even cleaned out my cookies and cache in that this evening without success.
I deactivated Zone Alarm and tried without success.
So now anyone have any ideas???
I have wasted so much time on this in the last 36 hours it's really starting to P me off.
