It is absolutely flat, with tiny gold pins attached.

How would you call it?

I would call it an image I cannot see. Smile

Sounds like a ceramic flatpack though.

Leaded flatpack, fairly common in industrial/military applications.

Often seen with the legs not attached.

Is there an abbreviation for that? Like QFP, DIP etc.?

Not a standard abreviation that I am ude to seeing.

CFP would work (ceramic flap-pack)

frassle probly knows.......he usualy has tonnes of that stuff....It looks like a Soviet chip he once presented, but I can't remember in which one.....
