Hi!

I have this cpu on an interposer to work in LGA1151 100 chipset motherboard and bios modded with new microcode and a few other tweaks (coffeetime 0.99)
CPUZ report Coffee Lake
HWInfo report Comet Lake
Seller states it is an i9 10980HK ES
The Igp is Coffee Lake H GT2
IMC works dual channel at DDR4 2666 default and some say DDR3 supported.

It worked for a few months in a H110 motherboard but killed the VRM. It now runs in a Z170 motherboard.

So it is a real Comet Lake cpu? Or Coffee Leak

Comet Lake is a marketing codename. Technically, QTJ1 is Coffee Lake, which should IMO be used here as it's an engineering sample.

QTJ1 specs are much lower than a retail i9 10980HK

Hello masterdeejay.
I never used QTJ1 but i have information about QTJ2 (which have 2 core less).

First, like xsecret has said Comet lake is nothing more than another + for Coffe lake .
But I have verified information that QTJ2 has about 5-10% increase in IPS above Coffee Lake Refresh (like i5/7/9 9xxx) .

So QTJ2 is a bridge from Coffe to Comet . And of corse because it's a sample which use ID from CF-L Stepping R0. Could be for Internal Intel's tests.
