|
|
I bid on auction with 2 C4040 microprocessors and didn't win it. Today I received a second chance offer for those chips. What was strange that I wasn't the second bidder, and the seller claimed that the offer is for chips from the auction. There was no second chance offer on my eBay profile page. I looked at the source of the second chance offer e-mail and found that it was sent from .ro domain. So, be warned - if you get offer like this go to your eBay account and verify that this offer is genuine.

I received confirmation from eBay - it was a spoof.

ebay is spoofed and spammed at the moment and they don't get it.
I get every day a question to one of my items from that f****ng china seller "My dear friend, ..."
All responst I get when I report that and ask for a spam filter in "My messages" is a spam-like mail by ebay that I shall not do business outside ebay.
They only care for trheir own money.
Not one comment on all I wrote in the message text when I report it.
The last messages I wrote were likely offendend to ebay and even here they didn't react.
Those things are read by robots I guess.
But a soppf as a second chance offer is new to me.
Thanks Genna for that hint! _________________ You may use the photos I have posted here under CC BY-NC-SA license. |

i received two different second-chances offers as well, both fake
reported them to ebay fraud center in my country ; doubt that will help much
the check is easy - log in to your ebay account ; the second-chance offer doesn't appear there
there are other clues in the messages themselves (invalid report rule violation link, incorrect mail addr, etc.) |

i agree
a couple of times i got disgusted, and considered not using ebay anymore, but they have no same-scale competitor, and for collectors... there is no other option |

I'm spammed too by offers : "We are computer wholesellers ..." I thought I was alone with that problem.
PS. I must create message rule in Outlook with message text starting like above and sending to Waste Bin _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

Yeah it sux, I get them as well. Now I just forward them straight to the eBay Spoof address. The thing that makes me really mad is that these chinese characters even get their eBay for Free then make a bloody nuisance of themselves. _________________ The Older they are the Better they are.

This one was first for me too. I've got lots of other phish e-mails in the past - "account suspended", "qustion from buyer", "I bought something on eBay without my knowledge", and maybe some others.
BTW, I've got another "second chance offer" for the same chips today.

Me too. I also contacted the buyer and he was not happy about it.
I believe he contacted everyone on his bid list to warn them about it. |
