I have a proliant 8500 running fine on 550 xeons.
I know it can take 900's but the required rom chip and procs are more than I want to invest.

So... upgrading to 700's.
There are several versions of these xeons...whats the difference ?
Of course...what version is perceived as the fastest ?
sl4xx
sl4gg
sl49s
sl3x2

Thanks

The fastest will be 700/100/2MB cache...
Look at SL4XW, SL5D5 & SL4XX
