I have a 3ghz CPU.. Fan is working at 2700 RPM and the Chassis fan is working at 2000 RPM.. THe pc hasn't been clocked. It is going as far as 170, 180 F Degrees and then the pc shuts down itself.. I like to know if the fans are in normal speed, or what can I do to cool down the cpu?will the cpu need to be replaced... I have tryied a 2ghz cpu and is working fine.. Is under 96F. and when is not been worked on is around the 70s

Remove the CPU and put some thermal paste under it if you haven't yet done so. If this doesn't help, you should get a new CPU cooler. My Athlon XP 3000+ is currently cooled by Thermaltake Volcano 12.
