Is it from cpubar? Did you try to remove that glue?

Thanks chiptalk! Well, when adding 10 common pentiums for each uncommon chip it will grow fast, but yes there are some goodies in there now.

Picur10, yes, its from cpubar. I have tried several chemicals but no luck. Its like its etched into the aluminium.

Thanks!

When we have a AMD expert in the thread i have to ask...

I have only seen this as an ES, does this package exists as a production version? If so, what models?

/T

I'd like to know that as well. I think CPUShack said they exist as production versions, but I don't remember clearly (I'm attempting to complete my K6 family collection, but still have a lot to learn about many of the less common versions such as the BGA versions, for which I have yet to find a datasheet).

Are you sure that is a production version? The photo is not large or clear enough to read any info off the chip...

If it is a production version, please give a better photo and state what is written on the chip (so I can include info about it on my K6 pages).

Did some googleing...

Could this thread mention what we are after? http://forums.amd.com/index.php?showtopic=18930

"...(AMD-K6EL/233BCZ), which is a Ceramic BGA package"

Googling some more gives us

http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K6/AMD-Mobile%20K6%20233%20-%20AMD-K6-233BCZ.html

which says 360-pin ceramic staggered BGA
0.985" x 0.985" (2.5 cm x 2.5 cm)

I'm actually looking for a datasheet that covers the BGA processors - all the datasheets I have looked through so far have info only about the PGA chips. I have as much info as there is on this site about K6 family processors, but that is far from complete when it comes to some of the more unusual or less common versions.

Thanks for the external links though, I think there were a couple of datasheets I don't have (I'll know for sure when I get home and compare them against what I do have...).
