Are Intel still running that "lifetime" replacement program? - or is it one of those "lifetime" deals that only means the lifetime of the people in the company who put the porgam into place?
I remeber the whole saga celarly and Intel had to do some serious backpeddaling.
Has anyone had a replacement pentium in exchange for their FDIV pentium?

How about a race? JAC asks Intel in England and Tim Intel in US.
The first to get either a "NO we dont do that" or acually gets a chip wins.

Sent them an email this morning and recieved this reply.
| Quote: | Hello Timothy,
Thank you for contacting Intel(R) Technical Support.
I understand that you looking for warranty replacement for a processor with the FDIV "bug”.
In December of 1994, Intel announced a lifetime replacement policy on the well publicized floating point unit flaw, contained in the then current version (60-100MHz) of the Pentium® processor. Non-FPU flawed versions of the Pentium processor began shipping in late 1994. If you took delivery of your system on Jan 1, 1995 or later, it is increasingly probable that you have a processor without the flaw. Therefore, it is important that you check your system to determine if a replacement is needed
Please visit the following websites for information on replacing the processor:

Please do not hesitate to contact us again if you need further assistance.
Sincerely,
Adolfo S.

| Quote: | Q4: I understand that my original Pentium® processor has a 'lifetime' replacement policy. If I decide to opt for a replacement chip, do I still have a 'lifetime' replacement policy on my replacement chip?
A4: No. The lifetime replacement is 'exhausted' once the replacement is made. Your replacement processor is then covered under a one-year warranty.

and best one who wants warranty on his old Pentium ?
| Code: | Q16: Is my replacement Pentium® processor covered under a warranty?
A16: Yes. Your replacement processor has a one year limited warranty. You will receive a warranty card with your replacement chip.
