Hey all, I got an Asus a8n sli deluxe board when they first came out, ever since I put my system together it takes waaay too long to boot. It detects my HD every boot, even though I set it in the bios, and once the OS scrteen with that blue running thing shows up is sits there for almost 4 minutes, then it boots. Once it boots it is lighning fast, so I am at a loss, maybe someone could help me out, would be great. Thank you.

I just rememebered bootvis.. get that here from microsoft and it will show you where the time is being spent. This may point you in the direction of a driver problem or possibly a corrupt file.

http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/system/sysperf/fastboot/default.mspx

Get it here:

Also, run malware software as bacterio suggested first!

Also look for unnecesary services and unnecesary programs at startup (I recommend you to use spybot to manage them)

Optimizing my prescott 3'2ghz 1gb ram nvidia geforce 6200 agp8x I get that it starts only in 1'05 minutes, so your amd could boot faster
