Motherboard for Athlon XP-M 2008

Hi,

First, sorry for my english..

Second :

I have a Asus A7N8X-VM/400 with a Athlon 1600+ with Ubuntu 6.10 (is working very good)
And recently i try to put an Athlon XP-M 2800 on this configuration, but the CPU stay @800Mhz.

The CPU

Is a Hardware or Software problem ?

If i can't put the Athlon XP-M 2800 on the Asus A7N8X-VM/400, can you say me what motherboard i can use for the CPU ?

Maybe your BIOS doesn't recognize the CPU and doesn't set correct bus speed and clock multiplier... Try to set bus speed and multiplier manually in the BIOS.

hmm

That my problem, i have the last Bios release, and for this MotherBoard, i can't change anymore...
The CPU is autodetected and that all .

So thank you .

I'll try to find another motherboard for this CPU, if you are an advise about motherboard for this CPU, thanks by advance !

Hi Sadako,
As the manual of your Mobo in the page 8 tells Your Mobo can only with Athlon 2700XP+ work
There are no Jumper and no configuration over BIOS.
The only thing that you can do is check with a 400 Mhs memory .... Just try Wink

But , now i'm going to another way, i try to find a MotherBoard for this CPU, it's more simple.

So if you know a good motherboard for an Athlon XP-M 2800+ Wink

Try to use this program to set Athlon XP-M multiplier from Windows:

As for the motherboard - I've read that many people use Abit NF7/NF7S with Athlon XP-Ms, I don't know if that board supports XP-M 2800+ or not.

Some about my problem.

i find a MSI KT4V for the Athlon XP-M, i'm not buy the MotherBoard again, i just want to know your feeling about this card...
