Earlier versions of Windows use an essentially nonpreemptive dispatching technique that Microsoft calls "cooperative multicasting." In cooperative multicasting, each program is expected to voluntarily give up the CPU periodically to give other processes a chance to execute. Discuss, what potential difficulties can this method cause?
