I have a P4 Northwood 533 2.4ghz cpu that i want to put into a board that supports 400mhz FSB..
What will happen if I do this...? Will it work... |

Yes, but the P4 frequency is given by FSB*cpu clock multiplier, which is locked in Intel cpus.
400 mhz fsb will make your cpu work at a slower frequency.
Because Intel uses quad-pumped bus the real Fsb is 100 mhz for 400 and 133 for 533, 2400/133=18x; 18x100=1800 mhz cpu with 400 mhz fsb.

Does your board look like this? In forums seems it's your same model, but the one you have is oem, baught and renamed.
Should be 533 mhz fsb ready... check in your bios. |
