Typical things to ask yourself... :
#1 Is motherboard new and or tested ?
#2 Is DDR any good/ tested ?
#3 Do you know for sure the CPU is good ?
I know these are all basic and somewhat stupid questions, but most of the times leads to answers. Also, is there any power at all ? What does the system do? Check all power sources as well if no power is there.Like bad PSU for exemple.
*************BUT************
As I observe the specs of your motherboard, it seems to only support as high as 333FSB !!! ( FSB: 333/266/200MHz) If indeed it is a AMD 3000+ at 400FSB this would explain alot.As far as I know it would either underclock the CPU, or not support it at all !
Here's a look at the motherboard and specs for people wondering about it.

Hope this helps.....?

ps...here's what I really don't like about this board :
3 x DDR DIMM Max. 3GB unbuffered PC3200/2700/2100/1600 non-ECC SDRAM(PC3200 Max to 1 DIMM only, PC2700 Max to 2 DIMM only) |

THANKS FOR YOUR QUICK REPLY,JD. MUCH APPRECIATED.
PSU/MOTHERBOARD/ALL O.K. & WORKING, BUT ONLY RAN 512MB AT 266MHZ .
I HAD GIVEN ASUS THE BOARD / CPU DETAILS 'N' THEY O.K.'D.
GUESS EVERYONE HAS A BAD DAY AT OFFICE!!!!!!!! SUCH IS LIFE.
I'LL GO 4 A 333 UNIT INSTEAD, AND UPGRADE TO 1GB DDR400 MEMORY
WHICH HOPEFULLY WILL UPGRADE MY SYSTEM NICELY.THKS AGAIN

JD have right. All motherboards with VIA KT400/KT400A not support CPU with 200/400 MHz FSB.
BTW. Most of boards with KT400 had problem with support DDR PC3200(400 MHz). Remember _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |
