|
|
I was playing Halo online and have a 64mb vid card all drivers are good, the game played fine for a month, the card is still currently working but my 3D quit on me. Now when I run the 3D test through directx 9.0c 3D test fails. Error code is HRESULT=0x887602eb.
I re-installed the video drivers, did a halo repair and reinstalled my directx today. When I ran directx after reinstalling, the 3D passed. The game worked fine for about 5 minutes -10 minutes, then it froze up, cut me out of the game and gave me the same errors.
I'm currently typing this text with the same video card so what's going on? Help. |

Are you overclocking? Something may have happened to the card, physically.
Try the card in another PC with the same drivers loaded (IE Nvidia cards work in almost all PCs with Nvidia already loaded, same with ATI). Check for the same result. |

DON"T BOTHER DOING THIS SUGGESTION BELOW:

Simply try bringing down your vid settings in the game and refresh rate.
Exemple,
... if its at 70mhz+ bring it down to 60mhz.
...also put it at 800x600.
...and all your other features on low settings.
Then see what happens before you rip parts out of your machine.
Only then, if all hell breaks loose, should you consider taking parts out LOL ! The obvious need for a new vid card will be seen when nothing seems to work game wize anymore.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I'm not overclocking, I did bring down the refresh rate in the game and on my computer itself. It seems to be working, so I'll just keep my fingers crossed for now and hope for the best. |

I didn't say "DONT BOTHER DOING THE SUGGESTION BELOW"
That suggestion was to check if it was the card or the driver. |

I know, I said it
Simple solution first !!! Before taking parts out and putting it to test it in other machine ! Always try the simple solutions first ! Going back to basics don't hurt LOL !
But anyways, S'ok, shes fine now !
