Quality of laser markings is not so good - I don't know if it's because it's a fake, or because the picture is grainy. What's on the back?

A high res pic would be good to look at the quality. Also do a check on the thickness compared to a bunch of other cpus.

My initial thought is the date marking is too young for the spec code.

It also looks too much like a production chip. There is no intel ' i '.

I have one I think is fake...

here is what I mean by the intel I.. also the different layhout of markings...

there are so many fakes out there, and a fair degree in variations even between the production specs.

Indeed, I can't find any info about Q0620 in intel's document.

Jac, in my opinion your Q126 isn't a fake.

Helo, yeah it is indeed a weird one for questions!

I'm going to keep it since I don't own alot of ES chips. If this is what it is...
I do agree with you Jac, that the probability of it being a fake is there. It would be just my luck to find a fake one for once in my life and not a real one Laughing

I've always bought my ES's and Samples.I never actually found one for myself ! I have posted questions to Intel to see what results they can tell me about it. Hope to hear from them soon.

Cheers!

Hehe, and no, I won't be holding my breath for a reply Smile

ps, btw, you guys posted some nice pix too.

Q126 is xB1 stepping, and according to Intel Pentium specification update xB1 engineering samples didn't have big "i" letter. Your ES may be genuine.

Q0620 is not in the update, so it maybe one of earlier A steppings. jd - try to get cpuid of your processor, if it's 521 or greater then it's a fake. Also, try to remove markings with acetone.
