Have a Gigabyte GA-7VRX (rev 1.1) motherboard bios version F7 and was running a Athlon xp 2100+ at 1.733 Mhz. Just purchased a Athlon Xp 2600+, 266mhz fsb. Swapped the chips and changed the jumper setting on the board to auto becasue it was not powering up when at 12.5<=. My computer still tells me im running a 2100+ at 1733mhz. Isn't the internal clock in the Athlon supposed to automatically run at 2128mhz with a 133mhz fsb.???
I don't know what to do. Is my motherboard limiting my processor from achieving 2100mhz? can anyone help.
The gigabyte website tells me that from bios version F6 and up should recognize 2600+. Is there anything in forgetting to do? |
