Yes, it is rare.
But I don't really know its value. I only know what I could spend for it.

Yes, I notice the dash and the holes in the "8" are not correct, so I said it looks like fake.

Here is my Cyrix DX50.

The chip has rather uncommon markings, but I think it isn't a fake.

I purchsed it many years ago (before the first fakes started to appear on eBay). The markings are of a very good quality, like the markings of all other Cyrix 486's in my collection. I tried to remove the markings with acetone and alcohol but without success. That's why I think it's genuine.

I have a working 486 mainboard that supports 50 MHz FSB. Is it possible to recognize if the chip is genuine or fake? Does somebody know the CPUID string of Cx486DX-50GP ?

I checked all of my Cyrix 486 and most of them have "8" that like your picture. I think it is not fake. I ever try run a Cyrix DX2-66 as 80MHz. It can boot but did not enter the system. I think All of Cyrix CPU are hard to overclock except Media GXm. Wink
