|
|
| I am looking for a new CPU and motherboard, but I don't want to change out my ram (184 pin PC2700/PC3200), or my grafx card (7600GS/AGP). I am a rookie when it comes to terminology and all that stuff. A friend told me I could get a Sempron 3400+ Palermo, and that's the fastest I could go? Can someone recommend the fastest/cheapest upgrade? I would want an MSI or Asus mobo (i heard they were the best & easiest), and at least 3 memory slots. I currently have an AMD Athlon XP 1500+ ,an MSI MS-6712 mobo, and 2 ATA hard drives. Any suggestions/recommendations? Does it matter how many pins are on the power supply? |

Don't ask "the guy that built my computer" to look after your dog, in "looking" there isn't "feeding" as well... and you love your pet!
Misleading is the worst, he could have got it right but you weren't paying I presume. You can go up to athlon 3400+, but it'll cost a lot as it is the best upgrade for a dead socket.
Get socket 939, you keep the ram, the gfx card and you can find for cheap an athlon 3000+ to overclock to death with stock cooler. It got sse 1/2/3 + amd goodies. You can even go dual core, yoohoo!!
Msi aren't the real best, gigabyte is v.good, asus is not a bet but a reliable thing you pay for the years to come. Asus you don't throw them away, usually you sell them.
The guy that built your pc may have been tired, next time find a real nerd to have better advices.
Good night. |

I think you can buy DISC with system without licence. CDkey you have on PC and purchase proof. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |
