Nice finds! Did you find them in your own stash? (i.e do we know its history) _________________ My collection: http://www.cpucollection.se :::::: http://www.chipdb.org Photos of chips you never knew existed. Now over 6000 different chips in the database. |

Not from my stash...
Purchased in an estate sale. The person who had them was
referred to as an older computer geek. Bunch of nice items
But not as nice as Lither's |

The top one happens occasionally when a firm heatsink is removed, removing the entire print. I have a few pentiums, and plenty of 486's like this from memory.
I'm not sure I understand the significance of the second however. It looks normal apart from the slightly wonky and faded print. _________________ 4000+ chips.

There is no speed rating or S-Spec code on the first one.
The second one has no laser etched text on the upper ceramic. Yet appears to have the speed rating scratched off on the back?
Nice, Interesting CPU's _________________ CPU-Me! Hippo's Collection Online |

I know I have definately got some early pentiums with no S Spec on the rear.
Also, I have just noticed from your second picture it seems to have had a lot of cleaning or polishing on the bottom of the SX923(?) Perhaps it has been desoldered?
Have they been powered up? _________________ 4000+ chips.

I have a similar Pentium, It has intel and Pentium logo but doesn't has etching speed rating or S-Spec code. _________________ Yan |
