I just purchased this processor and CPU-World says it may be a Barton Model 10 or a Thoroughbred Model 8.

When I boot up Windows XP will not start (just keeps rebooting my computer) but it works in DOS. AMD's Dos utility Identifies it as a Duron 500mhz Model 10.

I'm using a Gigabyte MB GA-7ZXE rev.1.0

Any help?

http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Motherboard/BIOS_Model.aspx?ProductID=2307

you mean axda2800dkv4c?

either way looks like it ain't supported by your mobo, try a bios update but i'm pretty sure it won't solve a thing

look for a new motherboard that supports barton core cpus

or maybe try a cmos reset

bye

As I saw it's operate with lower voltage (1.65v). Check your bios setting maybe the board gives too high voltage to the cpu.
