Mine isnt the '8' version but looks the same.

These are great 16bit CPUs
They are 52 pin chips

They are cermaic and the blacktop is an anodized aluminum heatspreader with gold inlays.

This is one nice looking chip.

I also have AM29116DC without gold inlays:



Bottom of the chip looks exactly the same as your chip.
