I have to ask...I have seen multiple types of chips, that are pictured here, on CPU WORLD, that have "variable " in their temp and voltage "identification"...what exactly does this equate to, in their actual temp/volt ratings....for example...if the chip is a ADA3500DKA5CF ... it identifys as a ATHLON 3800+ oPGA packaged 1.35Voltage Temperature , E4 stepping processor.
HOW |is the processor, in temps that USUALLY average between 50 Celsius and 71 Celsius?
I really need to know if i NEED excessive COOLING (especially during the coming up SUMMER monthes)...to keep my processor from DAMAGING due to OVERHEATING.

....well, I can't really make anything of this question, but if this helps for the CPU temp part, I never had a AMD run above 50'.
..having said that, for the ppl who thinks it's perfectly normal to be running a CPU over that limit (my set limit of 50' max), well I have to say to them this ----> must be expensive to have to change CPU or board everytime...

Sorry!  THat question didn't come out to clear...shouldn't have used
the chips that have "variable" in there temperature /voltage ID markings...
How "variable" is that? They seem to "vary" quite exceedingly...and, I am worried that they will vary themselves into smoke and sparking, and, the smell of burnt plastic!?!
EXAMPLE -->ADA3500DKA5CF ---"ADA" --> athlon 64 STANDARD --- "3500" ---3500+ Equivalent speed, in G/MHz---"D"--->939 OuPGA package ---"K" --->1.35V---"A" --->VARIABLE max. temperature ---"5" --->1 MB cache---CF --->E4 stepping.
Once again, my question is how varied is "variable max temp."...in chips like the exampled one above?
