Hello everyone. I'm planning to upgrade my P3 450 MHz 100 FSB CPU to a 850 MHz model. I've looked into it and found that everthing is the same between the two chips except the core voltages. The 450 is at 2.0V but the 850 is at 1.65V. Is this a huge problem? Can I still make the switch but will be required to screw with jumpers for a few hours? Thanks for your help. :-H

In this case, this a huge problem. Morever, your 450 is a Katmai with 512K external, whether the 850 is a Coppermine with 256K internal.
They are not same cpus, even if both are called Pentium III. You must check if your motherboard accept Coppermine and what is the maximum frequency.
