AVG doesnt get good reviews when compared to paid for programs. I agree AVG looks ok for a free program, but I dont mind paying a little. I am using avast free at the moment.

Bitdefender looks good, but its a paid for program.

Norton 2004, Zone alarm latest ver, Kaspersky latest ver.

Multiboot, different OS, not all at once!

I think too that paying a little fee maybe time saving.

I don't use anti-virus programs and haven't been using them for very long time. I use occasionally spybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/) and adaware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/).

So you don't use Windows?

Wink

I don't use any Microsoft products except OS Smile I also use hardware firewall.
BTW, I do have Linux installed on one of my work computers, and sometime later this year I'm going to replace Win2K on my main work computer with Ubuntu.

I'm not online from home (still!!!) so don't ahve an urgent need for AV at home.

I tried AVG recently, and it decided I wanted to delete files it thought were viruses. One was a file I needed in order to use a piece of software I have for evaluation. Needless to say, I won't be trusting AVG - an AV product should always give the usaer the choice of what to do when it finds a suspect file!

I'll possibly be buying a copy of Norton AV when I'm back online, although like Genna I will also have a hardware firewall, so may not need the same level of protection.
