Hi guys,
Bought this AMD Athlon "mobile" 3700 754 socket cpu from a "reputable" dealer on Ebay for $99, but the photo on the advert is a
lot different from the Cpu that I received after payment.
see link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150143055037
Cpu id: A M U 3700 B E X 5 AR 1097041I40034 CAAXC 0437MPMW
2001 AMD
Also the CPU details are unusual, I have searched many sites trying to get an ID on it, but with out success. AMA is the normal identifier.
My chip is kharki brown, not dark green and only one black label with the cpu details on it.
Is this a fake or engineer version, as its production date of 2001 pre-dates the Mobile 3700 release?
I was hoping to fit it to a Suttle AN51R Nvidia 250 MOBO and try overclocking it, as it can run hot and is of low voltage.
I havent tried it out yet, as i dont know if its a real Mobile Athlon 3700,
but these chips are attracting a premium of around $100 ea, more so in Europe £80 ea, so it would be nice to have the genuine artical. |

LOOKS GENUINE FOR ME. 2001 year is only patent year of AMD Athlon 64 not manufactured. real date code is 0437 what means 37 week of 2004 year. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

AMU processors have different power consumption than AMA chips. I don't know what the actual power consumption of these chips, but I believe its lower than for AMA processors.

AMU processor are probably OEM-only, and are not supposed to be sold to general public.
