|
|
Hi all,
I finally have my online store up and running so you are all invited to have a browse and if you see anything you like you are most welcome to buy.
You can find it here http://www.vintagecomputerbits.com
The Home Page is not too flash as of now but I hope you find everything else up to scratch.
I currently have approximately 240 chips online and will be adding others on a daily basis until I have my full selection available.
After I have finished loading the chips i will start on the rest and it is going to be a mammoth task.
We currently accept payment only by Credit Card via Paymex which is the New Zealand version of PayPal but is in no way related to PayPal and you do not have to be a member of Paymex to use it for Payments.
I look forward to any feedback you may leave here about my site and will attempt to address any issues you may have with it.

Would you buy some old computer parts??
I have a lot of old stuff. I don't want to make money... These old parts are to good to be thrown away... _________________ i440BX

Really nice page and a lot of work and a lot of great chips!
Perhaps the prices are a bit more than the hardcore collectors here spend... $30 for a ordinary pentium pro, $50 for a Pentium 60 does not indicate that bargains could be made but that someone is out to make money. Which i have nothing against. Just a tip since the sales in this community mostly are from other collectors and has a pricing out of a collecting point.
But keep it up, its a really good initiative and since it is in its startup there are hopefully room for adjustments! _________________ My collection: http://www.cpucollection.se :::::: http://www.chipdb.org Photos of chips you never knew existed. Now over 6000 different chips in the database. |

Please bear in mind that the Prices are in New Zealand Dollars which is a much weaker currency than the US Dollar, the Euro or the British Pound.
eg NZ$30 equals approximately US$21 or 10 British Pounds.
Also you have the opportunity to send me your "Best Offers" on a lot of the chips that are currently listed using the "Send us your Best Offer" Button on the Product Description Page and as long as the offer is not rediculously low it will be sent through to me.
So, bearing in mind the differences in exchange rates, I think you will find that most of my prices are reasonable and obviously if items sit too long then price adjustments may take place.
Obviously it is a commercial operation for me and I have costs that I wish to recover and hopefully will, at the end of the day, show a profit, but I also see it as an opportunity to attact new entrants into the "Chip Collecting" community which I see as a good thing for all.
I also bear in mind that whilst "chip collecting" is a hobby for most collectors, I am also pretty sure that most will be treating their hobby as a superanuation fund in some respects and be very hopeful that in the course of time when they come to sell their collections, they will do so at a considerable profit over their actual costs of initial investment.
Thanks for the feedback so far and I look forward to more.
