Celeron vs. others

I'm looking to upgrade and I've noticed that the celeron cpu's are quite a bit cheaper than almost everything else. Is there a reason why? Is celeron the bottom of the barrel? What are your opionions? I will be doing some minor video editing from a camcorder but mainly just regular internet junk.

Yes it is the bottom of the barrel but for internet junk, it will be enough.
