Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4GHZ @ $269
Core 2 Duo E6700 Intel Core 2 Duo e6700 @ 2.67GHz @$274

Am I missing something? Why is the Duo selling for more than the Quad? Are the Quads not that good, not that popular? Or is there some technical limitation or different intended applications?

I'm upgrading for some very basic tasks and some gaming.

I had a e6400 and im running a q6600 as we speak o/c to 3.2, they are not bad at all and a way better value if youre upgrading anyway. They may not o/c as high as the dual cores but hey youve got twice the amount under the hood. I have been running the q6600 for 7 or 8 months now and i wouldnt go back to a dual core if you paid me, talk about multitasking qualities, they rule, i just cant wait for more programs and games to be written to take advantage of the quad cores.
