Pentium 4s

I've been comparing the SL7DU with the desktop counterpart SL7E5(etc), the thing is they're all the same slot (478 PGA4). I'm not talking about the Pentium4m, which is a totally different product.

Did Intel really just make a short generation of p4 CPUs as a mobile version, shunting the clock down to 533 from the 800 at the time?

What happens if you stick one of those SL7DUs in a desktop motherboard? lol.
