Effective (real) frequency, 1.81 ghz.
Rated frequency 3.66 ghz.
Effective is the real speed. But because of architecture and other internal stuff, it runs like (it performs like) a 3.66 ghz (I assume an Intel cpu), running at that real frequency in most benchmarks.
It's just about rating: I have a car that is a V8 3000 that performs like a V12 3000...
The Turion X2 1.81 doesn't mean work 1.81+.181= 3.62 ghz power, in fact you have two different cores that can do 2 thyings at a time, making it go faster as it can compute in parallel instead of waiting in line...
Ok, lame examples but you get the point.
Same as Athlon Xp 3000+, real freq is 2 ghz I think, but performs like a pentium 4 at 3 ghz, so for marketing they call it a 3000 to help costumers to compare.
It's late here, so here it is as is... |
