I have had my PC for over 3 years now. its a modified Compaq Presario 1303wm from walmart. I upgraded the video, memory, drives, and increased performance greately.
I am interested in knowing which processor manufacturer, AMD or INTEL, is the best choice, long ago during the AMD/Intel lawsuit, Intel was better in performance. After the lawsuit, AMD stomped on Intel. Is this still the case? I have been assuming so, but I want the best performance possable for a modern CPU and board combo.
Should I wait to buy new until AMD responds to Intel's quad core CPU's?
Or would a PS3 running linux be better than AMD or Intel. There you have 8 cores from SUN. Does anyone know weather or not there will be a PC based on the 8 core sun chip, besides PS3? |

if you want the best performance the go for Intel Quad core and Extreme processors - those are faster than just released AMD Phenom CPUs.

PS3 uses an IBM designed Cell CPU running at 3.2GHz _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

| But Cell isn't a great genereal-purpose cpu like Core 2 Duo or Athlon64/Phenom it's just ONE cpu with 7 SPE around it and PS3 lacks of memory ... |
