I currently have an AMD Athlon XP 3000+ which came pre installed on my AU31 motherboard. Can I somehow upgrade to a faster processor without having to do a major upgrade such as a new motherboard? My current CPU - My motherboard manual in pdf format (not sure if this is of any use)

Edit: The "add an attachment" feature does not allow pdf formats to be uploaded. The megaupload link that I originally provided works for me, first you have to re-enter the 3 letters at the top of the page, then once you enter in the correct set of letters, it will count down until download. Does anyone else have a better site where i could upload a pdf for free?

Hi,
on FIC site I cannot find your motherboard model AU31 (only oem) but I found au13 with the same chipset, for this one the top cpu is barton 3000+ so I think you have already the powerfull cpu it can hold. |
